Truck driver training typically involves a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training. The training program is designed to prepare aspiring truck drivers to pass the commercial driver’s license (CDL) exam and become safe and competent drivers.
The classroom portion of the training covers topics such as Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, safe driving practices, and basic maintenance and inspection procedures. In addition, students will learn about the various types of commercial vehicles, their components, and how to navigate highways and roadways.
The hands-on portion of the training involves driving a tractor-trailer under the supervision of a licensed instructor. Students will learn how to maneuver and control the vehicle in various driving conditions, such as on highways, in urban areas, and in adverse weather.

Some truck driving schools like All Truck Driving Training also offer specialized training in areas such as hazardous materials, oversized loads, and passenger transport.

The length of truck driver training programs can vary depending on the school and the type of program. Some programs can be completed in as little as a few weeks, while others may take several months.

Upon completion of the training program and passing the CDL exam, graduates can begin working as professional truck drivers in a variety of industries, such as shipping, logistics, and transportation.
